Calling all strippers!!!

You heard me right, Canada is so desperate for citizens she's offering free Visa's to Strippers from around the world in exchange for citizenship! That's right we are running low on nude entertainment!

So why my sudden interest in the lack of strippers in Canada...? Or more aptly put, the likely increase in the demand for "exotic" entertainment. An increase so big it dwarfs the supply of "quality, experienced" strippers.

Well the answer lies in the Ukraine! No need for the confused face..? I'm sure you've heard of the fradulent elections that recently took place and has been played out in ever form of media ever since? Protests, rally's for electoral justice, calls for a re-count.. it's been insane. But what does it have to do with strippers!

Well it's so simple.. this is how my brain works.. so stay with me. Canada is a cultural mosiac that offers the benefits of the first-world without requiring you assimilate or disown your birth country like say, the US. Canada respects it's citizens so much she has refused to recognize the results of the vote in the Ukraine... Now I know I could care less so why would Canada be so interested in the results of some election in a second world country? Because ever since the elections, Canada has been full of protesting, angry, orange wearing Ukranians who have DEMANDED that Canada voice their unified disappointment and refuse to recognize the fradulent vote.

As passionate as Canada is, as much concern as we've had for other countries, we're pretty good at being nice.. maybe too nice. Maybe it's that softness that's allowed Canada to poke it's nose, so to speak, into the elections in the Ukraine. Not that the results whichever way they went would ever make or break Canada.. but it matters to Canada's people! People who happen to be liked to this torn country. Canada's decision wouldn't be possible if there weren't so many Ukranian-Canadians.

Imagine, leaving your country but still being loyal, and having solidarity with your displaced people in times of political unrest.. the Ukraine has no official president now. Nigeria has been there many times in my lifetime alone.. I've never seen a rally of Nigerians the way the Ukranians rallied.. all wearing ORANGE to support the wronged candidate. The RIGHTFUL winner.. Their President.

I feel the more loyal nigerians we get OUT of naija, the better chance we have at building the country. From the outside in. If it is even possible for Nigeria to be a united nation, this is definitely the way. Nigerians in other countries.. Countries with power, will have to unite and CALL out for legitimacy and honesty in our home government. It's not a seeming oppurtunity for unification but the more I look around I see the powers we take for GRANTED in these democratic countries we've so easily adopted. Countries that at least PRETENDS to be accountable to it's citizens.. despite their mixed heritage.

Nigeria is definitely lawless, we as naija's have been well branded as lawless as a result. It's no suprise we're happy to shed that skin at times and be "free" in a new country with running water. But, what are we doing here in the diaspora to help our brehtren out of such a mess? We've moved, lost our accents, created successful businesses, enjoyed the sanctitude of the the burbds and erased so much of our nativeness... our uniqueness. Sure, we visit at xmas and go to naija parties with other watered-down Nigerians.. but when anything happens back home... the clamour for justice is no where to be seen. We're too busy living American, Candian, British lives.

Perhaps getting more nigerians over here.. by any means possible will help? Help the country and help wake the rest of us up! So what if a cousin or sister had to come and strip for 2 years? The family she brings over after she's received her citizenship surely would be grateful.. First reactions and Christian values aside, being a stripper is relatively better than going to Italy to be a paperless prostitue. That's what so many of our sisters are doing. Those from NaijaRyders might remember my post on an article about the rate of HIV/AIDS infections of deprted prostitutes. Yes, the leave with hopes and dreams but bring back AIDS just to get married and help the spread of AIDS with their polygamist husbands. At least here in Canada, you're clothed, protected and have rights! Not to mention a legal immigration status!

The real question is, would I, a regular nigerian girl "make it clap" for citizenship? Fucking right! I have enough ass.. why not get citzenship for it? I would do it. I would do it in a heartbeat if I could help Nigeria. If I could help my Family. If I could help myself.Togerther we'd become stronger, independent, have a future... By being here and holding my new home accoutnable for what happens in my own birth country. Thousands of strippers protesting injustice to women under the sharia law, theft from national coffers, illegal "elections", wrongful or suspect deaths and millions of other crimes perpetuated on innocent Nigerians is STILL thousands of CANADIANS calling for justice in a once lawless country! A thousand Canadians have the voice of more than 10 million Nigerians.. It's the truth. It's the truth of our world today. Millions are dieing in Sudan while these white governments are debating wether it's genocide.. who cares! argue that shit after the fact!! If the Sudanese ( assuming there are any ) ganged up and stormed parliament, there would be change. It's as simple as that. I want that for MY country and other African countries.

So truthfully, all that ass shaking IS putting money in Canada's pocket. Shouldn't we get soemthing for all that tax dollars? Isn't a few thousand a year in taxes from a few thousand worth the salvation of an entire country? It could happen! Besides learning how to contort my body I'd have the chance to make somethign of myself. What did MLK say? If you don't stand for somethign you'll fall for anything? Who says there isn't such a thing as a righteous stripper? A stripper with a plan? Don't we come here as housekeepers and nurses? We leave middle class jobs to clean shit right off those white people's asses just for citizenship? Any one with sense would rather shake tits than wipe ass. These guys can't touch your body and they sure as hell can't TOUCH my mind. As a main you'd go work for some white woman who overworks you without pay just for room and board? Constant derogatory comments about your dress, and accent? Fuck that. There's honour in stripping to me.. especially if in comparison, the nurse in complacent, the housekeeper is housekept but the stripper is a revolutionary minded woman such as myself.

Seriously, I've found the perfect looking black man!! Who knew he wasn't just a myth? He sings like an angel.. ok.. maybe like Usher with a dash of Maxwell... but u get the gist right? He even looks naija! Dark... chocolate skin... nappy hair that hopefully I could get to braid or twist.. and tight dresser... the perfect man-accessory for your girl.. don't you think?

The production continues...

My sis sent me these pics of Star's Wedding... It might have been the pix but it she doesn't look too happy at all... In fact the guests sememed in a more festive mood.

About the guests sef... who is she fooling.. she doesn't sit around chilling with Donald Trump or Hilary Clinton... even Sam Jackson.. The Gore's The Richard's maybe but The Hiltons?????? I dunno.

In fact, the entire thing just reminds me of Naija Weddings... you invite the most important people you can.. for business of course.. it's all about networking and status. In Naija you can even invite a total stranger and make him "Chairman" just for the gift... people sponsors in Naija and corporate wedding sponsors in the US. it's damn well ridiculous. The wedding is almost a money making venture for some ( not talking of the Star formaerly known as Jones ) but over-huge weddings in general. These million dollar weddings..? Does it make your MARRIAGE any more spectacular? I don't think so. Star's wedding seems like it was draped in elegance and the cream of the crop. I see all these stars and I know Star Jones isn't as big a name as half of them.. she's more of a personality than anything.. a "Payless" Oprah with way more attitude and chips on her shouder than pounds on her waist... She comes off as obnoxious most of the time and ever so slightly pompous.. Almost like she HAS to prove she has an attitude.. like we could miss it!. I'm not a fan.. and never have been.. but I do enjoy a love story and I still do wish her the best and happiness.

<>

Vivica Fox looked Foxy as usual.. I wish she would just get old, ugly, fat and wrinkly already so she can stop being so hot.. give us young'uns a chance! I love Vivica.. she's so fierce. I ran into her at the Roc The Mic concert last year.. she's so real.

Anyway... enjoy the pics... thought I'd share!

see the original thread: More Pictures

p.s. could someone do me a favour and tell Blair Underwood it's 2004...? and no one is wearing that hair anymore? What's up with his hair sef?

The production that is Miss Jones

I'm so happy for Star jones... I can't even say why. Over the past few months I've been on her site looking at the pics of her and Al... At first I was weary of the whole celebrity love thing.. we all knwo there's no such thing. But somewhere between the vacations to Jamaica and France... I really felt that this was real and perhaps she finally was happy.

What's more spectacular is they are getting married one year to the date of the first meeting at a part for Alicia Keys... isn't that something? I mean who would have guessed they'd be married when they were introduced, or bumped into each other at thi industry party... I think that's really the best part of love... the way it turns your life in an entirely different direction!

The wedding was this weekend... http://msnbc.msn.com/id/6487108

I love having a day off... it's even more fun than having a long weekend in a way. You get to sleep in right in themiddle of the week.. that's what I'm about.. no stress. And Thursday would be the day I'd pick..yea.. maybe because I was born on Thor's day..

I took the chance to go see saw. While it was one of the more unique movies I've seen, it was unfortunately, one of the worst... you had to wait till the very last second to "get" the plot. The silly plot itself took WAY too long to unveil itself. I'm all for build-up and suspense... afterall who doesn't love to be teased a little? I'm all about the climax.. and to be honest, it took so long to get to the highpoints of the movie it was hard to stay with it... for a 100 minute movie it seemes like 3 hours... way too long.

As bad as SAW was, I definitely think it was better than After the Sunset... I guess it's getting hard to make good, insightful, inspiring movies with honest comedy and literate storylines.. All the moves I see seem like they're made for 12 year olds.. there's nothing there for the R Rated crowd.. even though they're made for us. I snuck in a few frames of Alfie... I might see that next. Hopefully it'll be worth the $35 experience! Actually, I think I'll just wait for Bridget Jones... Finally, something to look forward to! ( I know I always say that :p )

A Time To Kill

An intersting article I found while searching for links on Moses Sithole.

It's open season on a black woman in South Africa it seems.. at least it seemed so in post-apartheid SA. I've had this passing fascination with what drives people to kill over and over again. Murder commited in the heat of passion is nothing compared to the fantasies and thoughts these killers harbour and the precision they use to execute their lethal will on a choice victim... All from the undeniable need to kill and fulfil these unimagineable thoughts. Most often sexual and violent. While some of the murderes are admittedly fly-by-the-seat of their pants murderers who kill at any moment ( as the Night Stalker, Richard Ramirex did ) others like Moses Sithole and Dahmer actually come up with elaborate schemes to lure victims.. I find these the most intriguing.. It's at once disgustingly revolting to learn about them, hear them speak and even try to explain "Why" as it is interesting.. I have no interest in any one killer though the whole thing is just mind blowing to me.. and whenever I hear about another weirdo I can't help but wonder if he needed some more love in his life?

This article is worth sharing not simply to prove that these skin mag's like Maxim actually have good articles.. I find that a suprise because anytime I'm in the magazine racks their topics of choice usually include the trash that floats through men's minds on the regular.. I mean why is it in print if they're already thinking about it every 3 seconds? What a waste of time and paper. men's interests haven't changed since the dawn of man.. I had no clue what a Magazine like Maxin could ever offer society... Regardless, it caused me to take a double take when I ran across the link on Google. The article is literate and well paced.. it also goes beyond Sithole to talk about the social atmosphere that perhaps could have proved such fertile ground for serial killers, women abusers... evil. evil beings.. It's too bad the death penalty was abolished in post-apartheid SA... of course anyone with sense, infact, anyone with knowledge of the racism suffered by the people in the US would say in retrospect any law in place is suspect in a racial environment. How can you trust a guilty conviction if the accused is hated by the entire society? There is no justice in that environment. And, in a country that would restrict the majority in such a way.. there is no doubt many men suffered unjutly and gave their innocent life's in the constant demand for black blood.. I know enough about SA's history to say the death penalty was rightly abolished. That being said, they should have still found a way to kill these killers... skraight up.

Anyway.. read.. enjoy.. think.
